Life is all about experiences. Finding ways to make the most of our life experiences is a challenge that we face every day. Traveling is a unique experience as it's the best way to unplug from daily life and explore things we could never experience at home. You will never get to experience other countries’ struggles, celebrations, and traditions just seating at home, it also involves stepping out of the comfort zone and experiencing new things. These new experiences help us grow on a personal level, find out what we like and don’t, where are our weak and strong sides.
With my project I wanted to make a mini trip to different cities of the world without visas or flights. Show real cityscapes and create the effect of being in them here and now. As I am a 100% big city person, I decided to choose the most famous, beautiful and recognizable cities around the world for this project:
New York, Moscow and Dubai.
2022
All works are depictions of a real street (Times Square in New York, Red Square in Moscow) or a real cityscape (a view of Burj Khalifa in Dubai). For New York I also made 1 work that is a mix of characteristic buildings and cultural features. Each work is made from paper and consists of several layers which make it a 3D picture. All objects were drawn in Adobe Illustrator, then cut out with the help of Laser Cutter.
